The Shapes We Take, my debut novel, is my take at a classic boy fantasy adventure with an animal-themed twist.Featuring magic, evil space empires, sorcerers, and plenty of cute, talking animals, my goal with this project was to bring furry lit vibes to a story I might have picked up when I was growing up. To put it bluntly, I wanted some-thing for the "weird" kid. Here's the back-cover description!
Journey into a world of magical animals as a young shapeshifter finds his identity, uncovers secret truths about his past, and enters an ancient fight for his people’s right to belong.Jacques, a twelve-year-old orphan boy, has accepted how painfully normal his life is shaping up to be. He hadn’t thought about his missing parents in years—until the day he started transforming into animals. Now, he yearns to express himself by being as many animals as possible, and when he journeys to the magical realm of Dreamcrest, he happily begins doing just that. But when truths emerge about his birth, alongside dark tidings of a zealous empire who threaten to destroy all shapeshifters, Jacques must decide: should he stay home and stay safe, or venture into the unknown and fight?Jacques and his new friends, a fireball-flinging girl and a joyful little owl, mount their own investigation into his parents and the deadly space-faring empire that his father ran from. And the further in they get, the more dangerous things become—but a little danger might just be worth it, if it means standing up for who they are.
When the book goes live on the 21st of September, you'll find a link to it's Amazon page right here!

Shapes, Book 2 - Untitled
My main project. The second book in the series starting with The Shapes We Take is well on its way. The Celestial Empire makes technological strides, the Shapers unravel a chilling mystery, and Jacques moves to accomplish a lifelong goal: meeting one of his parents. Yet will that be worth it, for the fire that's starting to rage all around him?
Adult
Dragonheart (Working title)
My most complete side project, Dragonheart is a dark adult fantasy set in a war-torn continent.A young, rabbit-like swordswoman from a sleepy forest village has her priorities straight: family, village, safety. Her brother says she does too much for other people, but she'd say there's a lot to do. But when she falls in love with a great leader's daughter, she's drawn into the war and away from her family, and all seems well... for a time. When a new, existential threat rains fire from the skies, and the war closes in like a vice, will her choices lead to lasting love, or an eternal rest? With very light romance & graphic fantasy violence, this project will likely be my first foray into true furry lit. If something else takes that title, I'll be sure to let you know.
The Travelers (Working Title)
A D&D-esque, isekai fantasy featuring three high school seniors thrown into an alien world. This one features a cast of three; the king of the nerds, a young, exceptionally geeked-out man who's mouth perpetually gets him into trouble; a leather-jacket toting young woman who swings a flaming greatsword and is always on the verge of punching the nerd in question; and finally, a quiet, nonbinary kid who's really just trying to figure everything out alongside their two new best friends.Inspired by my love of video games created by Toby Fox, I hope this story ends up being as hilarious as it is heartwarming.
Science Fiction
Unnamed Sci-fi
I don't have much for this one yet - not even the age range, so I'll just list what I know for certain: Earth animal perspectives. A pre-apocalyptic setting. And a gut-wrenching ending.
About Me

Hello there! I'm Christopher, 25 (he/him), and I'm an indie author from New Albany, Indiana. I graduated from Indiana University in 2022, and it's been my dream to become a full time author ever since. My love for writing started in elementary school, with action-packed adventure book series like Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson & The Oympians and the Lorien Legacies series by James Frey & Jobie Hughes. I didn't start writing my own short stories until much later, in 2016, after I played an indie game called Undertale. What I learned from that story was that anybody could create fun, compelling storylines that make you cry with laughter and sorrow in equal parts. My first short stories were, as you can imagine, a little embarrassing to look back on - but I hope I've improved a little since then.In my writing, I primarily focus on nonhuman or human transformation themes. What would it be like to be an animal shapeshifter? How about waking up in a completely robotic body, or being genetically modified to be something else entirely? How would a society of different types of animal people function, and what issues would they face? And all throughout, as a queer writer, I try to touch on queer themes that mean a lot to me as well.I hope to venture full speed ahead into the world of creature and furry lit, wherever that takes me, and I'd be honored if you joined me for the ride.

(My navmesh inside of Cheydinhal Castle)
On a completely different note, I work on The Elder Scrolls fangame, Skyblivion! I did the navmeshing inside of Cheydinhal Castle, for example, as seen above. I've been part of the team since February 2023 and it's been a blast! Every time I sit down to play the game I'm just amazed at how fresh it feels. To me, it really feels like the next big Elder Scrolls RPG I've always wanted, and I'm honored to volunteer a few hours every week to making it possible. If you have experience working in the Creation Kit (or game design in general) and want to help make sure the game releases on time in 2025, please consider applying at the link. I'd love to see you on the team!

Please consider signing up for my newsletter!
Starting on September 31st, I'll be sending out newsletters every month, on the last day of the month. These will include ideas I'm thinking about, topics I'm considering in my writing, and exclusive sneak peaks at things like unused short stories and cover designs. In the first newsletter, I'll be posting a short story about the character Fred (from The Shapes We Take) set in between that book and the next one, lovingly titled "Fred's Day"!
